Aveda is a well-known pioneer in sustainable beauty and clean ingredients. They were one of the first to use 100% post-consumer recycled materials in packaging, and several products in the brand’s catalog today are made with 100% PCR. The backstage beauty hero Nutriplenish™ Leave-In Conditioner being among them. It is no wonder then that they would collaborate with Gabriela Hearst during fashion week, with artists creating sleek looks to go along with the show’s theme, “Re-purpose With Purpose”. The new collection featured an array of recycled and repurposed fabrics, finding new techniques that could work with waste but would not compromise quality. As fashion brands look for more ways to be sustainable, the fashion industry as a whole is being changed by consumers demanding more transparency and less waste.
