We did the work for you! These are the skincare products that deliver the potency and effectiveness you expect after you spend your hard earned money.
While self-care can mean skincare, some of us have a hard time with large price tags attached to luxury skincare. There is no guarantee that they work, which is why we tested them for you. You don’t need that expensive serum to take care of yourself, but if you happen to feel like it, treat yourself to something that reveals your best skin yet.
REVITALIZE & GLOW
Dr. Barbara Sturm’s products are on everyone’s radar for a reason. Before the doctor launched her skincare line, she was known for developing innovative treatments like the “blood facial”. The German doctor has a cult following in Germany and American beauties have quickly caught on. As a non-toxic beauty advocate, I find it sad, but not surprising, that most luxury skincare lines contain harmful ingredients. Not Dr. Sturm’s. I decided to give her Glow Drops a try. If you look in the mirror and find yourself seeing dull skin, this serum is for you.
Dr. Sturm’s Glow Drops get celebrity approval for refined and bright pre-event skin. As with any skincare product, you have to give this one about a month to work. The suppleness and refined pores are there after one time use, but for brighter and healthy looking skin, give it some time. It might even get rid of your dark under-eye circles. The unique blend promises to restore your tired and dull skin back to youthful radiance. Ingredients include: purslane, bistorta root, rosa canina, and sweet almond. Use this product before your moisturizer, mix it with your foundations or after your makeup – just have fun with it. I appreciate the fact that it is synthetic fragrance-free and the well-made packaging just makes me happy.
Testing the product proved that overtime it does work, and honestly, I can see the hype. The first time I applied the product to one side of my face, my skin felt supple, my pores looked smaller and I had a subtle glow. The other side of my face was jealous. The verdict? It’s impressive, but I am not sure if I would personally spend the money on another bottle. I have very dry skin and might opt for Dr. Strum’s Hyaluronic Acid instead. With that said, if you have the extra income and don’t flinch at spending $145 on a serum, I say it’s worth it.
Valmont Prime B-Cellular Serum might be $215, but it is worth every drop. As with most spa brands, this product is guaranteed to be effective. Valmont is a Swiss brand, known for innovative and luxury products, and spa treatments. The Prime B-Celluar anti-aging serum happens to be my favorite. Full disclosure, I have been surviving on free samples. I am 38 and take really good care of my skin, but it is time to start investing in preventative skincare. Thankfully I have minimal issues with my skin (thank you genetics). If you start seeing wrinkles, reach for Valmont’s anti-aging products. This serum in particular improves the texture of your skin – it almost feels like a toner.
The texture of Prime B-Cellular Serum is light and feels refreshing. Put it on before your other serums or moisturizer. If you’re not sure, follow the thin to thick rule. I highly recommend visiting your local Valmont Spa or shop. Their skincare experts are not only well trained, they truly seem to love the job and products. Professionalism and transparency gets my seal of approval.
SUMMER FRIDAYS CC ME SERUM might be the cheapest out of the bunch, but for some, $64 can feel like a good amount of money. For me, it’s the best $64 I have ever spent. I use this serum daily and look forward to buying it again. Summer Fridays products are smart and I like that they keep the line small. Since I am in my late 30s, I look for products with vitamin C, retinol and hyaluronic acid. This multi-tasking serum has the Vitamin C I need. It is is ideal for brightening and minimizing dark spots. In addition, the Squalane ingredient infuses my skin with moisture and glow. I can say with confidence that this serum works fast and makes your skin luminous. At the end of the day, it’s what we all want.
COLLAGEN TO THE RESCUE
Saian Pure Collagen Ampoules are a well-known tool for aestheticians to use after treatments, but they are easy to use at home. At $70 for 10 ampoules they can become quite the expense, but their potency is well worth it. Saian is a professional line of products for spas. I can happiliy say that it is all-natural and made in the USA. This is a skincare brand that you can trust. They know their stuff and I am told these Collagen Ampoules happen to be one of the best selling products.
If you have dry skin and look for anti-aging options, this is the nourishing product for you. In case you were wondering, collagen does mean firming, hydrating and you will see a difference in your wrinkle prone areas. I’d almost call it a natural filler for your wrinkles. How natural is it? The formula is fragrance-free, color-free, and paraben-free. What more can you ask for out of a skincare product?
